Knights of Columbus St. Volodymyr The Great Council 9557
Our Council 9557 joined the Knights of Columbus in 1987 and chose the name St. Volodymyr The Great in honour of the man who brought Christianity to Ukraine in the year 988.
The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in the service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.
As a member of the Knights of Columbus, you and your family enjoy many benefits, including 12 free issues annually of the Columbia magazine, the world’s largeset Catholic family magazine, eligibility to join the Knights of Columbus top-ranked life insurance program, and many more family and personal benefits.
St. Volodymyr The Great Council works to support and strengthen the parish of St. John the Baptist Shrine as well as other worthy causes in the broader Ukrainian community and the Ottawa region. The major benefactors include St. Vincent’s Hospital, Holy Spirit Seminary, Sheptytsky Institute, Eastern Catholic Chaplaincy, and the Arthritis Society.
All men in our parish are urged to become Knights by approaching any current member of the Executive Council to inquire about the membership process.
