2024 Canadian National March for Life Schedule/

On May 9, 2024, please participate in the March for Life (12:30 – 2:45 pm)
and Ukrainian Catholic Moleben (3:00 pm) on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
The 2024 March for Life will be held on Thursday, May 9. On the evening before, on May 8, services will be held in churches throughout Ottawa, praying for the unborn, their mothers, and fathers, and all those affected by abortion. On Wed., May 8 at 9 pm, a candlelight vigil will be held at the Human Rights monument on Elgin and Laurier St.
On Thurs., May 9, 10 a.m., masses will be held at St Patrick’s and Notre Dame Basilicas, as well as other locations. Our Bishop Bryan and UGCC clergy regularly participate in these, along with other bishops and priests.
On Thurs., May 9, at 12:30 pm, people gather on Parliament Hill for speeches from government representatives and other groups, and begin marching around the streets of Ottawa. In years past, over 25,000 people have participated.
Following the march, a Ukrainian Catholic Moleben will be served at 3:00 pm near the Eternal Flame, as in years past, with the participation of our Bishop, priests, numerous parishioners of our Shrine and of other churches from the Toronto area and across Canada. Every year, a few hundred people participate in this service. This year’s Moleben will be covered by EWTN, the global Catholic network. Please come and pray with us!
In the evening of May 9, the annual Rose Dinner will take place, featuring global ProLife speakers. There is also a parallel Youth Rose Dinner in the same venue. This dinner is a gathering for the ProLife and Christian community of Ottawa; local parishes purchase tables for parishioners and youth. The following day, Fri, May 10, an annual, very informative Youth Summit is held at the Hampton Inn (Vanier Pkwy & 417) 8 am – 3 pm, featuring global prolife speakers. Tickets are $75 per student. 9 травня просимо взяти участь у Поході за життя (12:30 – 14:45) та в Молебні (15:00) на Парламентському пагорбі в Оттаві.
8 травня, у кількох церквах Оттави відбудуться служби з молитвою за ненароджених, їхніх матерів і батьків, а також усіх, хто постраждав від абортів. Будь ласка, відвідайте: https://marchforlife.ca/2024-week-at-a-glance/ для детальної інформації та розкладу подій.
У середу, 8 травня о 21:00, відбудеться віче зі свічками біля пам’ятника правам людини на вулиці Елгін і Лорьє.
У четвер, 9 травня, о 10:00 меси служитимуться в базиліках Св. Патріка та Нотр-Дам, а також в інших місцях. Наш владика Брян та духовенство УГКЦ братимуть участь. В той день, о 12:30 учасники збираються на Парламентському пагорбі і починають похід вулицями Оттави. В минулих роках понад 25 000 людей брали участь.
9 травня о 15:00 – Український Католицький Молебен біля вічного вогню, як і в минулих роках, за участю нашого владики, священиків, численних парафіян нашої Святині та інших церков з околиць Торонто і всієї Канади. Щороку в цій службі беруть участь кілька сот людей. Цьогорічний Молебен висвітлюватиме EWTN, глобальна католицька мережа. Будь ласка, приходьте і моліться разом з нами!
Увечері 9 травня відбудеться щорічний “Rose Dinner”, на якому виступатимуть світові спікери ProLife. У цьому ж місці також паралельно проходить Молодіжна вечеря. Ця вечеря є збором для ProLife та християнської спільноти Оттави; місцеві парафії закуповують столики для парафіян та молоді. A new, 20-page Papal document was issued on April 8, 2024, explaining Catholic teaching not only on abortion, but also euthanasia (i.e., M.A.I.D. in Canada), prostitution, gender ideology and other issues which compromise human dignity. Euthanasia and “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAID) measures are being expanded in Canada. Please see: https://www.campaignlifecoalition.com/events/ for updates and action items.
In 2019, The World Medical Association (WMA) reaffirmed its opposition to euthanasia and assisted suicide, and yet, our government is set on confirming expansion of these practices. PLEASE PRAY for government leaders to respect the God-given dignity of life, and to stop expanding already over-used MAID measures.
